An inquest into the death of a man killed in a three-vehicle crash on the A146 near Thurton will be opened tomorrow.
Karl Plant, 39, who is believed to be from Norfolk, died after the grey Citroen C1 he was driving towards Beccles was in collision with a silver Toyota Yaris, also travelling towards Beccles and a white Ford Transit Tipper, travelling towards Norwich.
It happened just before 5pm on Wednesday around half a mile north of Thurton, just inside the 50mph zone.
There has been no suggestion that either vehicle was speeding.
Firefighters managed to free another man trapped in his car and he was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
The collision caused the road to be closed for more than five hours, with police officers manning roadblocks and organising diversion routes.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information concerning the driving manner of either vehicle prior to the incident.
The inquest opening will take place at the Coroners Court in Thorpe Road, Norwich, tomorrow afternoon.
