Detectives have launched an investigation after the man was seriously assaulted in Norwich in the early hours today.

The incident happened between 3am and 3.30am as the man walked near the Larkman Lane/Dereham Road junction, near Aldi.

“The victim remains in hospital in a stable condition and will undergo surgery later today for the injury to his ear.

“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information concerning those involved to contact police immediately.”

Witnesses should contact Norwich CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
