A man in his 50s suffered a broken cheekbone in a robbery in Norwich.
It happened in St Leonards Road in the early hours of today.
The man was walking near the top of Gas Hill at about 12.15am when he was approached from behind and punched in the face.
This caused him to fall to the floor where the attack continued as the suspect kicked him before stealing his rucksack.
The attacker fled the scene, running off down Gas Hill across Riverside Road to Bishopgate.
Police believe a second man was at the scene and was not directly involved in the attack but ran from the scene moments before the robber.
The main suspect was white, aged in his early 20s, of medium build and 6ft tall. He was wearing a peach coloured t-shirt and jeans. The second man was also white and of a similar age. He was of slim build, tall and wearing a dark coloured t-shirt.
The victim suffered a broken cheekbone and severe facial bruising which required hospital treatment.
Witnesses should contact Det Con Graham Finney at Norwich CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
