A man has today appeared in court charged with the murder of a father-of-two who disappeared five years ago.
Jonathon Porter, 32, of Outwell Road, Elm, appeared before Norwich Magistrates this morning charged with the murder of 24-year-old Terry McSpadden who was last seen visiting a cashpoint on his way home from a pub in March 2007 in Elm which straddles the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border near Wisbech.
Mr McSpadden, who lived in Outwell Road, Elm, has never been found but an arrest was made by Norfolk police following a case review by senior detectives from the force.
At today’s hearing Porter - who is tall with short brown hair and was wearing a black jacket and dark jumper with a white stripe - spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
He showed no emotion and was represented in court by Alison Muir. The prosecution lawyer was Oliver Haswell.
The case was adjourned until Tuesday morning when Porter is due to appear at Norwich Crown Court.
