A man has denied the theft of a memorial bench from Earlham cemetery in Norwich.
Shane Vincent, 38, of Roe Drive, Earlham, pleaded not guilty to the theft when he appeared before city magistrates today.
He was released on conditional bail with his trial to be held at Norwich magistrates’ court on December 4.
As reported, the bench was taken from the grave of Maisie Price, an eight-year-old girl who died in October 2009. But it was later handed in to police by a couple that had bought it.
