The aggressor took the ticket he had been given and “tried to push it under the traffic warden’s hat”.

A police spokesman added that this caused the warden’s head “to be pushed back” and that no serious injury was caused.

The attack on the warden - in his 40s - happened in Northgate Street on Friday, December 13 at some point between 1.55pm and 2pm

Anyone who has knowledge of the incident or witnessed it should call PC Jeremy Spencer at Gorleston police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
