Japan’s The Nobis arrived in Norwich on a tour lasting “one year and seven months”, and one that looks like continuing for some time.

After “technical difficulties” helped to largely empty the room, the duo performed with bundles of enthusiasm and desire.

A laptop seemed to be doing most of the work, pumping out synth-layered tracks, with a keyboard receiving occasional taps from Emi and a guitar being constantly played by Masakazu - although not really being heard.

The result? The Flight of the Conchords turning their hand to J-Pop, Sega Megadrive soundtracks with a smidgen of high-pitched Kylie Minogue-esque vocals thrown in for good measure. A strange mix - but it made for compelling viewing.
