A nursery school on the edge of Norwich is celebrating receiving top marks in its latest Ofsted report.

Little Nightingales Nursery in Taverham has been rated “outstanding” in every aspect by Ofsted inspectors.

The nursery is run by Nightingale First School which also holds the accolade of being an “outstanding” school following its own Ofsted inspection.

Headteacher Jackie Loughlin, who oversees the running of the nursery with the school governors, said: “We are very, very proud of our nursery and the outstanding group of children, parents and staff who are part of it and would like to thank everyone concerned in making our nursery the outstanding, happy, caring setting that it is.”

She said the report was a tribute to how hard everybody works at the nursery which has a very close relationship with the first school.

“The staff are all fantastic, incredible people and so are the children, and it is lovely to celebrate their success,” she said.

In the Ofsted report, the inspectors said: “The nursery is highly effective in meeting the needs of all children in the early years foundation stage, providing a vibrant and inspiring environment. All children make excellent progress in their learning and development, enjoying the consistently high standard of activities that contribute to their learning and development. Highly skilled staff work very well together to ensure the children are safeguarded and have their individual welfare and learning needs met.

“Excellent relationships are developed with parents and other professionals, in order to ensure all children receive high levels of individual support.”

To continue to improve, the report says the nursery should carry on using its system of self-evaluation and continue to listen to parents’ and children’s views.
