A Wroxham man claims he spotted a “very large black cat” while driving in broad daylight last Thursday.
Roy Blasket says the animal “sauntered and prowled” across the road about 50 yards in front of him and was definitely not a dog or a muntjac deer.
Mr Blasket, 77, of Grange Walk, was driving along Waterloo Road, Hainford, heading for the A140 at about 11am on August 22 when he spotted the creature.
“It completely ignored me,” he said. “It was definitely black and it was as large, if not larger than a black Labrador, but a lot longer.”
“It didn’t move like a dog or a deer. It sauntered and prowled and it was cat shaped. It disappeared into the undergrowth and when I reached the spot where it had been, it had completely disappeared.
“I was quite aware of other reported sightings and I know there is a lot of scepticism but, having mulled it over, I know what I saw,” he added.
