Kitten found dumped in Norwich wheelie bin with pelvic injuries

This cute little nine-week-old kitten is looking for a new home after being found dumped in a wheelie bin and suffering pelvic injuries.
Companion Care vet Jeni Dawson with the kitten that was found in a wheelie bin. Photo: Steve AdamsWith no collar and no microchip there was no way of tracing where she had come from or who her owners were when she was handed in to Companion Care vets at Pets at Home in Hall Road, Norwich on Sunday.
Veterinary nurse Jenny Dawson was working when a member of the public brought in the kitten for medical care.
The small black and white kitten, which has not been given a name by the vets yet, was found in a tall bin on Adelaide Road, off Dereham Road in Norwich, with a substantial amount of bruising around its pelvic area, including a broken pelvis. The vets are unsure how the kitten sustained these injuries but luckily she was found by a passer-by. Ms Dawson said the kitten responds well to affection and appeared to have been litter trained: “It makes me think she has an owner, and until this point has been well looked after.”
After four days the kitten appears to be making a speedy recovery, although still has difficulty walking without a limp, and has obviously suffered from a huge amount of stress.
Ms Dawson says that the kitten is very loving, adding: “It would be nice if we could find her a nice little home.”
In 2010 a woman in the West Midlands caused national outrage after being caught on camera dumping a cat in a wheelie bin.
A spokesman from the RSPCA said if anyone knows how the kitten ended up in the wheelie bin they should contact the RSPCA in confidence on 0300 1234999.

People are so cruel, we found two kittens abandoned in Sprowston. Tried finding their owners but they were dumped so we now have two loving cats who have settled into home life and who we wouldn't be without.

neil298 I was thinking exactly the same thing ! It amazes me sometimes of the wording of the headlines. Surely it should have read something like this, "Kitten with pelvic injuries found dumped in a wheelie bin".
