Bourn Hall Clinic will be is opening the facility in Wymondham to patients on March 13, which will be available to NHS patients and those paying for their own IVF treatment.

The clinic, based in Ferrier Close, at the Gateway 11 Business Park, in Wymondham, will mean patients from the county will no longer have to travel to London or Cambridge for fertility treatment.

NHS patients can be referred by their NHS hospital consultant if they fulfil the criteria for funding, which includes patients between the ages of 23 and 40.

Patients outside the criteria who are required to self fund can be referred by their GP.

More than 1,000 babies have been born as a result of Bourn Hall Clinic treatments.

Dorian Ransome, clinic manager, said: “The clinic will give patients the opportunity to have their complete treatment in Norfolk where previously they would have travelled to London or Cambridge.

“The Bourn Hall Clinic group is the largest provider of NHS fertility treatment in the East of England and has had over a thousand NHS births and a pregnancy rate of over 80pc for patients completing their full complement of NHS treatment cycles.”

  • This is great news for the people of Norfolk. After a couple of treatments provided in Norwich & Barts in London we were referred to Bourn Hall in 2009 and our son was born following IVF treatment last March. Having a facility closer to home will take a huge element of stress away from couples for whom this is already a very stressful time.

  • Just wanted to point out that the total number of babies have been born following treatment at Bourn Hall Clinic is in fact well over 12,000. The 1000 statistic actually relates to babies born following NHS-funded treatment at Bourn Hall since early 2009. (http:www.bourn-hall-clinic.co.uknewsbaby-kodie-is-one-in-a-thousand-says-bourn-hall-clinic) Around the world over 5 million IVF babies have been born, and it all started with Bourn Hall, 35 years ago.
