Around 30 dalmatians - and their owners- descended on Norwich this evening, in a mass walk between Chapelfield Gardens and a city centre shop.

Members of Norfolk Dalmatian Owners UK was started three years ago by Rachel Oliver, from Rackheath, and now has more than 100 members from all over the county.

They try to get together around once a month, and tonight made a trip to the Cath Kidston store in Norwich, who were launching their 101 Dalmatian range.

Connie Vallis, who organises a lot of the group's events, said: 'Everyone is very excited about the range because obviously we love dalmatians, but we also wanted to spread a bit of awareness.'

She said that when the 101 Dalmatians films were released, many people bought dalmatian puppies without understanding that they can be a lot to handle.

'We've given out information to people so they don't make a rash decision,' she said.

'They are a lovely breed but they have a lot of needs.'

Ms Vallis handed out fact sheets with details about the breed, as well as pointing to the Dalmatian Adoption Society and Rescue which she said was the best option for anyone wanting to get a dalmatian.
