Gap in Norwich is selling a Def Leppard T-shirt with an image of a burning tower block.

The store, on London Street, is stocking the black T-shirt, printed with a Def Leppard album cover. The 1983 release, Pyromania, depicts a glass tower block with several windows ablaze.

There were five T-shirts displayed on the shop floor, priced at £9.99, reduced from £18.95.

The Norwich store manager, Chris Lane, said that the shirts had been in the store from the beginning of the year.

They were put into the sale when it launched three weeks ago, before the fire at Grenfell Tower, London.

Mr Lane said that while, to his knowledge, no customers had made the link between the fire and the product, if people were to complain they would: “definitely report it to the head office” and potentially remove the item from the shelves.

He added that “from a company point of view, we’ve had no complaints.”

Gap have been contacted for comment and have yet to respond.
