Ipswich Town have made the first move in the run-up to this season’s first Old Farm Derby with an advertising billboard trailer.
A photo showing the trailer parked outside Carrow Road, inviting fans to buy this season’s Ipswich kit, was posted from the @Official_ITFC account today.
It was accompanied by the words: “Welcome back & see you very soon! #itfc #ncfc”
The 2014-15 Championship fixture list was revealed today, with the first East Anglian Derby at Portman Road on August 23 and Ipswich making the return journey on February 28 next year.
The most recent derby matches were in the 2010–11 season when the Canaries won both games, 4–1 at Carrow Road and 5–1 at Portman Road.
The Tractor Boys last appeared in the Premier League in 2001–02.
The advertising trailer was nowhere to be seen at Carrow Road by 3pm today, and neither club’s press office had responded to requests for comment at the time of writing.
There was also no response from the @NorwichCityFC Twitter account.
Ipswich Town fans had vowed to fly a banner over Carrow Road in May “congratulating” the club on relegation, but the plane was grounded due to the weather.
