An inquest is to be opened on Wednesday into the death of a Great Yarmouth man who died after the speedboat he was in capsized off Lowestoft.
Peter Chambers, 43, from Wellesley Road, died on Monday, March 10 after he was pulled from the sea near Ness Point.
Last week a post-mortem examination carried out at the James Paget University Hospital gave Mr Chambers’ cause of death as drowning but further toxicology tests will be carried out.
An inquest into Mr Chambers’ death is due to be opened and adjourned on Wednesday at Lowestoft Magistrates’ Court.Mr Chambers and the upturned boat were spotted at about 2pm - leading to a major search operation. Two other Great Yarmouth men on the speedboat, Malcolm Sayer, who is in his 70s, and Andy Porter, who is in his 40s, are still missing.
