An inquest into the death of a woman found dead in the University of East Anglia Broad has been opened at the coroner’s court in Norwich.
The body of Nomeda Pundziene, a 43-year-old originally from Lithuania, was found in the UEA Broad on Thursday, August 1 but was not identified until Friday, August 9 following a police investigation to identify the body.
Jacqueline Lake, Norfolk’s coroner, said at the opening of the inquest at the coroners court, in Thorpe Road, this morning that those investigations are still continuing.
Mrs Lake confirmed that Mrs Pundziene had lived in Gertrude Road, in the north of the city, and that her body had been identified by her husband at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
The inquest was then adjourned, with Mrs Lake saying she will review the progress of the case on or before Friday, November 15.
