If the shoe fits... Norwich women chosen for national campaign

Glamorous Paris or Milan might be more obvious choices for fashion shoots, but Dr Martens chose Norwich as the backdrop for their latest advertising campaign.
These pictures for their autumn/winter collection show Chiara Mottironi and Lauren Gregory, both from Norwich, posing in front of some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.
Chiara, who recently finished an illustration degree at Norwich University of the Arts, was responsible for choosing the locations around the city.
The 22-year-old from Carrow Hill said: “They asked me for some good places to shoot and it was all tied in with where I hang out, my city, and we took some shots in Anglia Square.
“I’ve been living here since I was 10 and I just love the city so it was great to do something around here.
“A friend of a friend is involved with Dr Martens and they had seen some photos of me and invited me to come along to a casting.”
Chiara and Lauren’s shots are set to appear in magazines around the country as well as on Dr Martens’ Facebook and Twitter pages in their #STANDFORSOMETHING campaign, which celebrates people who stand out from the crowd.
And although she’s since been signed by a modelling agency in London, Chiara’s still getting used to the idea of being chosen by such an iconic brand.
She said: “I still find it really bizarre, I keep thinking it’s only round Norwich but it’s not, which is crazy but cool.
“The plan for me now is to keep making art and just keep doing modelling on the side, it’s really fun.”
Lauren, 30, is landlady of the Birdcage and Sir Garnet pubs in Norwich and said she has kept every pair of Dr Martens she has ever owned.
The campaign celebrates Dr Martens-wearers around the country and will also feature models from London, Bath and Wales.
Amy Nelson, UK retail marketing manager, Dr Martens UK said: “People who wear Dr Martens bring the brand to life, so it felt natural to celebrate the real DMs wearers like Lauren and Chiara.
“These are authentic people who stand for something. The campaign represents people of different ages, backgrounds, occupations and personalities and they all have one thing in common - they wear Dr Martens boots and shoes with pride and passion.”
