Mum-of-two Kerri McAuley posted on Facebook that she was going in to 2017 as “strong as I’ve ever been” in the days before her death.
The 32 year old, who leaves behind two young sons, was found dead at her home in Southalls Way, Norwich, on Sunday evening.
Taking to her social media page on Christmas Day, she wrote: ‘“We might not of had the greatest couple of months and although I’ve not much felt in the Christmas spirit and it’s all had to be last min I’m on the mend and I’ve managed to pull it all together for my babies because as mums that’s what you do.
“I’m ready to start my 2017 as strong as I’ve ever been. Happy Christmas everyone.”
She shared a photo of her sons’ Christmas presents under a tree alongside the message.
Kerri’s 26-year-old ex-boyfriend Joe Storey, of Murrells Court, St John Street, Norwich, has been charged with murder.
He will appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court today.
Police have said a post mortem examination which took place on Monday was inconclusive however there is evidence that Kerri was subjected to a severe blunt force assault.
A JustGiving page has been set up by friends to try and raise enough money to pay for Miss McAuley’s funeral and headstone.
The page has so far amassed more than £9000 in donations.
