Ele Dibble shed two dress sizes in the space of six months and said she felt more confident, happier and healthier than ever before.

She said her 11-year-old daughter had noticed the difference, adding: 'My daughter Molly noticed when cuddling me recently that she can now put her arms right round me, whereas before starting on my weight loss journey she couldn't reach right round.' Mrs Dibble joined Slimming World following her mother's success.

She said: 'Seeing mum's weight drop off and her health improve was inspiring. I could see so many benefits and I could not believe how much food she was eating. I was really worried about my cholesterol levels and I wanted to make some changes before my health started to be affected. Feeling embarrassed, frightened and nervous, I opened the doors to Slimming World and instantly felt reassured. I was made to feel very welcome. I looked forward to each group as I made new friends and enjoyed learning about new recipes and hearing about other members' success stories.

'I was amazed by the amount of food I could eat and enjoy as my previous diets always left me feeling hungry and deprived.'

She said her family could enjoy the same meals as her, which fitted in well. adding that they enjoyed a variety of favourites including spaghetti bolognese and roast dinners and could still have an Indian takeaway and enjoy eating out without feeling guilty.

This year, Mrs Dibble is looking forward to starting a new career as a consultant and helping others to achieve their own weight loss goals and relaunched the Horsford group on Tuesday, which meets in the Church Room, Holt Road.
