The stops have been pulled out to ensure our eager readers are able to get their hands on a pack of our special GoGoGorillas! playing cards, which have been flying off the shelves this week.
A further 1,000 packs of the cards, which celebrate the celebrity primates that have played a starring role around Norwich this summer, will be available at the EDP and Evening News’ Norwich and district offices from 9am tomorrow after 1,000 decks of the cards sold out this week after being snapped up by eager readers.
The cards – which feature all 54 artistic apes – have been on sale at the EDP and Evening News’ Norwich and district offices, and have been bought by readers eager to have a souvenir of the art trail, which is raising funds for children’s charity Break and the Born Free Foundation.
EDP and Evening News editor Nigel Pickover said: “We are thrilled our cards have been so popular, and it shows just how much the GoGoGorillas! trail has captured the imagination of people of all ages.
“GoGoGorillas! is a great project supporting two extremely worthy causes, and we are pleased our playing cards have added an extra dimension to the joy and excitement that the trail has created.”
Since the cards were first launched last week, many people have flocked to buy the GoGoGorillas! decks for the full price of £7, while others eagerly collected the six tokens printed in the paper to be eligible to claim a deck for half-price.
A large queue formed at the Norwich office first thing on Tuesday morning and the cards quickly sold out, while there were similar stories in our district offices.
The adult gorillas will be auctioned off to raise funds for Break and Born Free at a special event at the Forum in Norwich on October 3.
