It’s raining, it’s pouring...but it will take more than wet weather to spoil one of the biggest and best-loved events in the King’s Lynn calendar.

Organisers of Festival Too - thought to be the largest free music festival in Europe - are expecting slightly reduced numbers at tonight’s (Friday) concert, headlined by Pigeon Detectives.

But the show must go on, with many thousands of people still expected to gather in Tuesday Market Place to party.

“We’ve never had to cancel in the past, and under no circumstances is it cancelled today,” said committee member Alan Taylor.

“When Sophie Ellis Bexter was performing last year it was pouring with rain and all around was a sea of umbrellas, but there was a great atmosphere.

“Numbers probably will be diminished, but people will always come out to support us because it’s a fantastic night of free entertainment.”

Performing from 8pm tonight will be Coots, followed by Sophie and Pigeon Detectives.

Headlining tomorrow night will be Brand New Heavies.
