Fourth person charged after Bricklayers Arms death

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Great Yarmouth that led to the death of 40-year-old Ian Church at the beginning of May have charged a fourth person.

Kelly Taylor, aged 33, from Harris Road, Sheerness, Kent, was charged with one count of Section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and one count of actual bodily harm (ABH). She was then bailed and will next appear at Norwich Magistrates Court at 9.30am on Tuesday, July 10.

Police were called at about 1.55am on Saturday, May 5 to a disturbance outside the Bricklayers Arms pub on Nelson Road Central, Great Yarmouth.

Officers arrived on scene to find a 40-year-old man with serious head injuries.

Twenty-four-year-old Todd Esherwood, of Saxon Road, Great Yarmouth, 29-year-old Tony Smith, of Sidney Close, Great Yarmouth and 30-year-old Stuart Layden of South Quay, Great Yarmouth, all charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with this incident, will all next appear at Norwich Crown Court for a Plea and Case Management Hearing on Friday, August 10.

A third man, arrested in connection with the incident, a 43-year-old, remains on bail pending further enquiries.
