More than a dozen people from Norfolk and Suffolk will be banned from travelling to the World Cup in Brazil this summer as they are subject to football banning orders, new figures have revealed.
England’s 2014 World Cup campaign kicks off against Italy in Manaus on June 14, but according to Norfolk police, eight people who live in the county have current football banning orders, meaning that they will be banned from attending the World Cup and will be “told to surrender their passports”.
Suffolk police said five people were banned from travelling.
