The Rev David Streeter is leaving his post as rector for Stradbroke with Horham, Athelington and Redingfield on October 27 because he has reached the retirement age of 70.

The festival was arranged at All Saints Church in Stradbroke from Saturday to Monday because one of Rev Streeter’s passions is flower arranging and he was set to be presented with a garden figurine, bird bath and flower holder at the end of the weekend as a thank you for this efforts.

On Sunday, churchwarden Peter Chetwynd said over 40 people had visited the festival to see 40 displays created by individuals for the exhibition, which is the 15th to be held at the church.

He added: “This festival is a bit more special because Rev Streeter is retiring so the church has been spruced up a bit because he does a lot of the flower arranging himself.”
