The Met Office has issued a weather warning for the East of England with slow-moving heavy rain, which could result in surface flooding, expected to move into parts of the region later.
A yellow rain warning has been put in place by forecasters who are warning “the public should be aware of possible surface water flooding” with some “intense showers” expected through the day.
rea of low pressure and a relatively moist airmass will be ingredients for some intense showers through the day.
They said the showers will probably be focused into slow-moving bands, which increases the risk of localised impacts, with perhaps in excess of 30 mm in a two-hour period.
However the slow-moving nature also means that areas not too far away could see very little rainfall. The areas under threat are a little uncertain, and may be adjusted in a subsequent issue
