Firefighters were scrambled to the James Paget Univeristy Hospital this evening after a blaze broke out in its training and education centre.
Crews from Gorleston, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft were called to the scene just before 6pm.
No one was injured in the fire, which was put out with hand applicances. Crews wore breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames and used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hot spots.
Staff at the hospital said normal procedure was followed after the fire broke out at 5.45pm. The hospital estates team is now working with the fire service to determine the cause of the blaze and any further necessary action.
Sue Watkinson, director of operations, said: “I am pleased to report that no one was injured, thanks to the swift action of our staff and the fire service, I would also like to apologise to visitors to the site who may have been inconvenienced during this incident.”
