A post on Twitter by Nofolk Fire Service just before 10am today said: 'Crews have asked us to thank the community of Rockland All Saints for their support in looking after us with food and water yesterday at the thatch fire, on what was a very hot day, until our welfare vehicle arrived.

'Thank you to all of you for your support.'

Around 20 minutes earlier, the service also made a post advising owners of thatched properties to read the service's Thatch Safety Information web page, where there are simple steps to follow to make properties safer.
