Hundreds of people from Hethersett and the surrounding area braved a bitterly cold night to enjoy the fifth annual village Christmas fair in the Methodist Church.

It was a night of special celebration for Hethersett, with the EDP Pride in Norfolk's communities over 5,000 population winner's plaque proudly on display during an evening of festive fair and entertainment. The award had been presented to the village at a special ceremony at County Hall. The fair has now become established as part of the village's pre-Christmas celebrations and is jointly organised by South Norfolk district councillor Leslie Dale and Methodist minister the Rev Derek Grimshaw. It featured a number of national and local charities and groups including Hethersett Brownies, Hethersett Environmental Action Team (HEAT), Hethersett Junior School, Hethersett Mothers' Union, Respect Yourself, Hethersett WI, Hethersett Jubilee Youth Club, the East Anglian Air Ambulance, Hope and Homes for Children charity, the RNLI and RSPB. Music was provided by Hethersett Woodside and Hethersett Junior Schools, Hethersett Methodist Singing Fellowship, Hethersett Singers and Hethersett Parish Church Choir.
