Pupils at Hethersett Old Hall School have had an introduction to stargazing this term.
The school's Parents' Association has funded a telescope and Mr Matt Lutkins, head of science, who is an avid stargazer, is looking to interest many of the pupils in the wonders of astronomy.
Year One boys and girls spent some time with him recently as part of their study of 'Light and Dark'. Luckily the moon was very visible during their morning lessons and all pupils were able to get a good view of it through the telescope, thoroughly enjoying the novel experience.
Mr Lutkins is now launching an Astronomy Club for all pupils including activities such as astrophotography.
