A teenager from City College Norwich has won a four-day placement at TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage restaurant.
Professional cookery student Chloe Friend, 18, triumphed in the Fosters Refrigerator Chefs of Tomorrow competition, beating competition from student chefs from the College of West Anglia and Cambridge Regional College.
The final saw Chloe, from Shipdham, present judges with her dessert course – a chocolate and Norfolk strawberry fondant – from a three-course menu designed for the competition within a £15 budget.
She will now work alongside the head chef of River Cottage, Tim Maddams, who was also on the judging panel of the final, held in Norwich.
Chloe has also won £2,000 of Fosters Refrigerator products for the college.
Chloe said: ' I am really looking forward to my placement at River Cottage. I think the experience will give me the opportunity to pick up skills while working with and watching the skilled chefs that are there.'
