Easton and Otley College received the Richard Haddon Challenge Cup - awarded to an educational exhibit which best demonstrates its facilities.

Vice principal, Clive Bound, was handed the cup from Prince Edward, the first royal president in 60 years – since the Queen Mother – to spend both days at the show.

Mr Bound said he was “delighted” to have received the award on behalf of the college.

A handful of students also received awards.

Apprentice, Harry Dredd, picked up a silver gilt medal for his work creating a garden design with Andrew Thacker Landscape Services.

Hannah Jarvis won first prize in the F3 floristry competition.

Libby Eglington came second in the 803 young handler class.

And Marshall Drew received a prize from Prince Edward for promoting agriculture in the community.

  • I would have thought that some of the students would have got prizes for continuing to ignor speed limits on the roads in Easton around the college.
