A youth shelter has been transformed by a group of motivated young students.
The three-day project at Dussindale Park, which began on Monday, is the product of a collaboration between sixth form and younger students from Thorpe St Andrew School.
The youngsters have given up their school holiday time to contribute to the design inspired by work by the artist Banksy.
Amy Fletcher, curriculum leader of art at the school, explained the group of 25 11-16-year-olds agreed they would like a design which reflects both the city they live in and a more exotic, idyllic paradise.
She said: 'Adults who have been walking past have been asking lots of questions.
'What I think is really inspiring is that they were all willing to come.'
Homage is paid to Norwich City through the green and yellow brickwork on the edges of the mural design.
Sam Marchant, 16, from the Heartsease estate, is one of the students working on the painting, he said: 'I thought it was a great opportunity to do some volunteering. Being an art GCSE student it's a chance to practise my painting skills.'
He added that it was a way to get to know other students and pass on some advice to the younger ones who are about to embark on their gcse courses.
The activity was made possible through funding from Thorpe St Andrew town council, which provided materials for the students including paint and paint brushes.
It took a couple of months for the team of students to plan the artwork and they have now given the previously graffitied shelter a new lease of life.
Hannah Hall, a 12-year-old pupil, said: 'I'm really happy with the design and it's fun to do.'
Caroline Scriggins from Friends of Thorpe St Andrew Parks, who also works as an administration assistant at the school, explained the mural is part of ongoing work to renovate parks in Thorpe and make them more inclusive for young people.
The school hopes this picture will be the first in a cycle of paintings to be displayed on the shelter every two or three years.
