Six people have been arrested in police operation to disrupt the supply of controlled drugs in Great Yarmouth.

Raids were carried out at homes in Yarmouth and Caister yesterday, resulting in the arrest of four men and two women.

Four men, aged 37, 51 and two aged 48 and two women, aged 46 and 49, were all arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a Class A drug.

Detective Sergeant Paul Morton, from the Great Yarmouth Tactical Crime Unit, who led the operation, said: “These arrests follow a three-month long investigation into the supply of crack cocaine and heroin in the Yarmouth area.

“We’re committed to tackling illegal drug activity in order to protect communities from the associated crime and anti-social behaviour this can bring.”

All suspects have been released on bail until July pending further inquiries.

Anyone concerned about illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood can contact police by calling 101 or report information anonymously via independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
