A woman in her 50s remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital following a three vehicle crash near Norwich.

The driver of a Nissan Micra was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge after suffering a serious head injury in the collision on the B1150 at Horstead.

The Micra was involved in a crash with a Mercedes and a Hyundai Coupe at just before 3pm yesterday.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance’s two helicopters flew to the scene.

Anglia One’s Dr Jeremy Mauger and critical care paramedic Andy Downes treated the patient on scene before Dr Ed Gold and critical care paramedic Gary Spitzer flew her to Addenbrooke’s Hospital on Anglia Two for further treatment.

Firefighters from Sprowston and Carrow stations responded to the road traffic collision and used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the patient extricate.

The road reopened at around 6.45pm last night. No one else was injured in the crash.

Any witnesses to the crash are urged to call 101.
