A 19-year-old man found acting suspiciously in a Stalham boatyard has been given a police caution.

Norfolk police’s Broads Beat team, working with local officers, were patrolling Moonfleet Marine in The Staithe when they spotted two young men acting suspiciously.

The suspects ran from the scene on seeing police and were detained nearby a short time later. Both were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit theft and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning. No further action was taken against a 17-year-old youth.

Inspector Danny Kett, who leads Broads Beat, said the team would continue to to tackle marine crime and warned would-be thieves to think twice before targeting boatyards.

He added: “I would encourage boat owners to make sure they are taking the necessary security precautions and ensure that valuables are not left on board wherever possible.”

  • Is he still the Comrade Crime Commissar of Norfolk ? Have not heard or seen one peep out of him since he was elected (by a handful of voters)? Pointless as we all know "The Law is an Ass" , where magistrates and Judges live in the land of the Pixies
