Two people were arrested on suspicion of drug offences after police officers raided a house in Norwich.

A 41-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were arrested at the address in Irstead Road on Friday where about 100 grams of white powder, believed to be amphetamine, was found.

Drug paraphernalia was also seized by Norfolk Police officers in the raid.

The suspects, both arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, were taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and released on bail until October, pending further inquiries.

PC Joe Gutteridge, local beat manager for Norfolk Police, said: “We will always take positive action against illegal drug activity where possible. I would urge anyone with similar concerns in their community to contact us where information will be dealt with sensitively.”

Anyone concerned about illegal drug activity should contact their local policing team on 101 or alternatively information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
