Bawburgh Parish Council chairman David Goodman said the group arrived around at around 8.20pm on Sunday, June 10.

He said Norfolk Police has been notified and a trespass notice served, which orders the travellers to move by 9am tomorrow.

It comes as a group of travellers set up camp on land at Longwater and then next to the Roundwell Monument in Costessey last week.

Mr Goodman said it was an 'enormous frustration' to the parish council, which owns the village hall.

'We feel powerless,' Mr Goodman said. 'We are a low-financed parish council, and if we have to go for an eviction order we have to go through the courts, and that will cost us hundreds of pounds.'

The travellers at the village hall car park did not wish to comment.
