Police have arrested three men in connection with an assault in Norwich city centre when two of the attackers were dressed as Oompa Loompas.

Two men in their late teens and one man in his early 20s, all from the North Walsham area, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm on Saturday following an investigation into the assault.

The assault happened in Prince of Wales Road between 3.20am and 3.30am on Thursday, December 27, with four people involved in the assault of a 28-year-old man.

Two of those people were dressed as the bright orange-skinned characters from the Roald Dahl novel Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The three men have been released on police bail until mid-March.
