More than 90 drivers were stopped by police during a nine-hour operation along Earlham Road in Norwich.

Officers arrested one man after he was found to have taken a Mini Cooper without consent and was driving with a revoked licence.

PC Dan Taylor said the 26-year-old was also in possession of around £10 worth of cannabis and a locking knife.

He was one of 93 drivers stopped between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Saturday.

Of those:

• Three vehicles were seized for having no insurance.

• Four were stopped for speeding.

• Three drivers were found to not be wearing seat belts.

• Three were served notices for having defects on their vehicle.

• A further three had no MOT.#

PC Taylor said other offences included people using their mobile phones while driving and not displaying their number plates correctly.

He said 15 special constables were involved in the operation, which aims to improve road safety across the county.
