A woman was found dead in a Norwich hostel on Monday afternoon.

And the following day emergency services were called back to Hinde House on Bethel Street to take another woman who was unconscious to hospital.

Police were first called to the hostel, which is for women who have been homeless or have mental health or drug issues, at 1.50pm on Monday.

They said there were no suspicious circumstances to the death and the case has now been passed to the coroner.

The hostel belongs to housing association Orwell and its chief executive Stephen Javes said the death had already been investigated.

Then on Tuesday the ambulance service was called at 12.22pm to a woman in her 20s at Hinde House who was unconscious but was breathing.

She was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, and is understood to have recovered.

Mr Javes added: 'Our staff are fully aware of the circumstances and are working with safeguarding authorities to make sure everything is OK.'
