A jury has retired to consider its verdict in the case of a woman accused of stabbing a man through the chest.

Jacquie Duffy, 53, of Desmond Drive, denies wounding with intent and claims she acted in self-defence following unwanted sexual advances during the incident in Norwich on July 31.

Judge Peter Jacobs finished summing up the case this morning and sent the jury out to consider its verdict at 12.40pm, asking them to reach a unanimous verdict.

Duffy and the man had been drinking at her flat when he was allegedly stabbed by Duffy.

The jury had earlier in the case heard how the knife punctured his chest wall, just inches from his heart, went through his lung and out the other side.

The trial continues.
