Norfolk’s police and crime commissioner has awarded £180,000 to community groups and charities in Norfolk.
People who support Norfolk’s most vulnerable, tackle domestic abuse and sexual violence, and work with ex-offenders helping them turn their lives around are some of the recipients of grants from the PCC’s Safer Norfolk Medium Grants Fund.
Stephen Bett said: “I have been all around the county and, after seeing first-hand the incredible work being done in Norfolk by dedicated, determined people, I wanted to support what they were doing.
“That led me to launch the Safer Norfolk Medium Grants Fund, working with the Norfolk Community Foundation. I invited bids from charities, voluntary and community organisations across Norfolk asking them to demonstrate how they could help reduce crime and support victims in their local area. I was overwhelmed by the response.”
