A blood donation session was cancelled after fuel was stolen from a blood delivery van.
The crime took place at the Norwich Airport Industrial Estate over the weekend or overnight between yesterday and this morning.
It caused this morning’s blood donation session for the NHS Blood and Transpolant Service at the Assembly House on Theatre Street, Norwich, to be cancelled.
An NHS Blood and Transplant spokesman said: “We can confirm that the first half of our blood donation session at the Assembly House was sadly cancelled today after a fuel theft from one of our vehicles.
“The fuel cap was urgently repaired to enable the vehicle to be refuelled and we were able to continue with the afternoon donation from 1.45-4.15pm as planned. The incident has been reported to police.
“We apologise for any inconvenience to donors and we look forward to seeing our loyal Norwich blood donors again.”
