A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man charged with multiple offences in Norwich city centre.

Matthew Morris, 54, of no fixed abode, was summoned to Norwich Magistrates Court on nine counts of failing to comply with a community protection notice, and one count of disorderly behaviour.

Many of the offences were related to daytime drinking in Haymarket, Norwich.

Nicola Pope, prosecuting, said Morris, who did not attend, had made a variety of responses to the charges. She asked for a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

Natasha Baker, defending Morris, said that he had responded to all the charges and that issuing an order in his absence would be unfair, as he would be unaware of its existence.

Magistrate Sylvia Bond issued a warrant without bail and said: 'We need a warrant for his arrest so he is fully aware of what he is expected to comply with.'
