Council bosses will be monitoring the weather across Waveney as fears grow that the expected storm could cause havoc in the region.
Regular services, such as bin collections, could be affected if the district feels the full force of unusually strong winds and heavy rain, which are expected to hit the region at about 10pm tonight (Sunday) and continue into the early hours tomorrow (Monday).
Although the worst of the weather is forecast to arrive at about 3am – with gusts of up to 70mph heading to Britain from the Azores – Waveney District Council chiefs will be keeping an close eye on developments.
With locals being advised to check online for updates, a Waveney district council spokesman said: “Waveney’s operational teams will ensure that service disruption caused by the storm is kept to an absolute minimum.
“However should services, such as bin collections be affected, we will ensure that people are made aware at the earliest opportunity via our website and twitter account.”
