The Vue cinema in Norwich’s Castle Mall shopping centre was busy with youngsters enjoying their half term break.

But a fire alarm saw people asked to leave, with an announcement made over loud speakers shortly after 10.30am to ensure people knew where to go.

Victoria Merrison, spokesman for Castle Mall, said that the incident turned out to be a false alarm and that cinema-goers were able to return to their films within no more than five minutes, and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service were not needed.
