His successor, Ashley Hicks, will take up the role of managing director on August 31 - joining the company from Tesco where he was commercial director of Tesco Hungary.

It comes after Kettle Foods’ parent company Diamond Foods announced in February that it had taken a 51pc stake in Dutch firm Yellow Chips as it looks to break into the growing market for vegetable crisps.

The premium crisp manufacturer and EDP Top100, which employs 400 staff at its Bowthorpe factory, was launched in 1988.

  • I don't mind them being called chips on the packaging, like you say it's up to Kettle. But I was referring to the copy in the article. I see that EN24 have since amended it so it now reads British :)

  • @martin, agreed, but unfortunately Americanisms are taking over, and Kettle is an American company, so they can put what they like on the package. They can get away in the U. S. with calling any fizzy wine champagne, but Heaven forbid that anyone takes Coca-Cola's Name in Vain.
