Fakenham-based Payne Brothers, which supplies blended and straight fertilisers to growers throughout East Anglia, is adopting the name of its owner, Norwich-based J&H Bunn Ltd.
The business will join three other Bunn Group subsidiaries, from Cornwall to Scotland, in a process which will reflect the closer integration that has been taking place between the businesses over the last few years, the company said.
Bunn, which was sold to US group Koch last year and recently announced it was moving its corporate headquarters to Norwich, this year saw profits soar by more than £4m thanks to increased demand for its products.
David Harrod, commercial director of Bunn, said: “As we extend our global purchasing resources and expertise to customers throughout the UK, our team is increasingly working across all of our local subsidiaries to provide value for Bunn customers. The change of name to Bunn reflects these improvements and removes any confusion that may exist amongst our customers.”
Payne Brothers Fertiliser Ltd was founded by WH Payne and A Payne in 1964 and now employs 10 staff at its premises in Fakenham. It was bought by Bunn in 2007.
Ben Payne of Payne Brothers, said: “With the integration happening across the Bunn business, changing to just one national entity will allow our customers to take advantage of additional efficiencies and services within Bunn.”
