A 23-year-old Norwich entrepreneur will be the keynote speaker as Norfolk libraries mark Start-up Day on Thursday.

Paige Mitchel is the owner of independent lifestyle store Elm on Lower Goat Lane. She opened her business last year and sources items from both local makers and European craftspeople, as well as making and selling her own pottery.

She will be speaking at the Business and Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC) at Norwich's Millennium Library on Thursday, when it opens its door to aspiring business owners. Similar events will take place at libraries in King's Lynn and Great Yarmouth.

In Norwich, the events will cover starting a business, pitching for investment, designing for success, social media and more, while there will be different events in the other two towns.

Tickets are free but must be booked at bit.ly/2wHosfVCouncillor Margaret Dewsbury, chairman of the communities committee at Norfolk County Council, said: 'Norfolk is an excellent place for start-ups and it's great to not only be a part of this nationwide network of libraries but to have opened our Business and Intellectual Property Centre last year in the Millennium Library. I look forward to seeing more events like this in the future to help the people of Norfolk realise their business ambitions.'

The BIPC provides a space for entrepreneurs to come together to network, attend events and access resources including business databases, Mintel market research reports, company data and information on patents, trademarks, designs and copyright.
