Car park operator RCP Parking Ltd has added thousands of parking spaces to its UK portfolio through a string of contract wins – helping to secure record growth for the firm.
The Norwich-based company now has more than 100 sites for the first time in its 20-year history, including three new city centre car parks in Manchester – together offering 900 spaces.
RCP managing director Shapoor Naghshineh said: “This year is proving to be our busiest and most profitable ever – and long may it continue. I am delighted that RCP Parking is now a very well-established and trusted parking operator, and that our business is growing through word-of-mouth and a higher national profile.
“As parking operators, we have a vital role to play in town and city centres right across the country – by using our excellent value car parks to draw in shoppers and visitors, helping to kick-start local economies and boosting the retail sector amid challenging times.”
Mr Naghshineh said that turnover at RCP Parking had increased by 25pc and was expected to reach £8m during the current financial year (2013-14) with profitability also up.
RCP Parking is adding about 3,000 new spaces to its portfolio – growth of more than 25pc – with contract successes in Manchester, Hungerford, Hertford, London, Reading and Edinburgh. It is planning to open five city centre sites next summer in Peterborough, offering 400 spaces alone.
In East Anglia, it has started operating a new 90-space car park at Alan Boswell Group in Thorpe Road, Norwich, for use on Norwich City match days.
It also has new sites in Lower Orwell Street, Ipswich, and High Street, Haverhill.
RCP Parking now has more than 11,000 spaces under management, with sites ranging from shopping centres, leisure complexes and railway stations to offices, development sites and schools.
The company hopes to open new car parks in North Wales, Plymouth, Chelsea, Brighton and Leeds during the next few months, with plans to be announced.
“We have recently invested in a marketing drive within the commercial property sector and this has generated significant interest in RCP Parking’s work from landowners, property agents and developers,” said Mr Naghshineh.
Formed in 1994 and based in Prince of Wales Road, Norwich, the family-run business has expanded from one small car park to more than 100 locations nationwide, including London, the Midlands, East Anglia, the North-West, Cornwall and Scotland.
